Tell the WA Building Council to protect indoor air quality of new homes

Keep fossil fuels out of Washington homes

Burning gas in homes leads to poor air quality and can harm residents’ health. A proposed policy would make sure all new homes use efficient electric heating systems, have proper ventilation for gas stoves, and have electric water heating systems in single and two-family homes. This is a critical step to protecting public health and addressing the climate crisis.

Burning gas in homes leads to poor air quality and can harm residents’ health. In fact, children who live in gas-burning homes have a higher risk of experiencing asthma symptoms.

A proposed policy would make sure all new homes use efficient electric heating systems, have proper ventilation for gas stoves, and have electric water heating systems in single and two-family homes. It’s already more cost effective to build all-electric homes from the start, so this is an all-around win and a critical step to protecting public health and addressing the climate crisis.

Help us show Washington officials that there’s broad support for this policy.
