Support clean cars – and clean air – in New Jersey

Support clean cars in New Jersey

Cars are literally driving climate change, not to mention polluting our air and harming our health. Governor Phil Murphy must direct the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to cut carbon emissions from vehicles by adopting the Advanced Clean Cars II rule. This will require all new vehicles sold by manufacturers to be zero-emission by 2035.

Urge the New Jersey to adopt the Advanced Clean Cars II before the public comment period closes on April 15.

Cars are literally driving climate change, not to mention polluting our air and harming our health. Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) must cut carbon emissions from vehicles by adopting the Advanced Clean Cars II rule. This will require all new vehicles sold by manufacturers to be zero-emission by 2035.

The benefits of adopting the ACCII rule include:

  • A 50% reduction in planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions from passenger cars by 2040.
  • Fewer premature deaths, fewer asthma attacks, and fewer missed days of work due to pollution-related health concerns.
  • A lower total cost of car ownership (you won’t be held to the wild swings in gas prices!).
  • The creation of new jobs manufacturing EVs.
