Please prioritize the following policies:

SB 271: Implements a 60% Renewable Energy Standard by 2035 and a 100% Clean Energy Standard by 2040. By setting ambitious targets for renewable energy adoption, Michigan can lead the way in reducing pollution, while driving major investments into our economy and ensuring a just and equitable transition for all residents.

SB 273: Expands the Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) standard by increasing the annual energy savings targets for both electric and gas providers. Most significantly, it prioritizes and requires energy efficiency programs to focus on improving energy affordability, health, and safety for low-income customers.

SB 502: Empowers the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) to consider critical factors such as climate change, affordability, equity, and community input in its decision-making process on Integrated Resource Plans (IRPs). By granting the MPSC the authority to act on these considerations, require utilities to take appropriate action, and actively promote community participation, we can ensure that our energy policies align with our shared goals of sustainability, containing costs, and inclusive decision-making.

I implore you to prioritize the well-being of Michigan's residents and the long-term health of our environment. Please support the climate and energy package that includes the policies outlined above. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
