Reducing emissions from transportation is critical to hitting our climate goals. That’s why we need to fully fund buses, trains, and other transit infrastructure and operations. This will also bring a number of other benefits like protecting public health, reducing traffic, and creating more connected communities with more options for getting around.

Denver metro area transit must keep up with a growing population and provide more and better options for people to get around. Underfunded transit can result in impacts to service reliability, fewer or less frequent train and bus routes, understaffing, and other issues. We can make public transportation work better for the millions of people in the Denver metro area, making it a convenient option to get to the airport, commute to work, or take kids to school.

We must ensure our transit system receives the funding it needs to reduce emissions and help more people get around reliably and affordably. Colorado mayors will be critical to helping making that happen, which is why we need them to get on board. Share your support today.

I’m writing to urge you to support fully funding the Regional Transportation District (RTD) to ensure that the Denver metro area and the millions of people it serves have dependable, frequent service.

Better transit is critical to reducing climate emissions and dangerous ozone pollution by providing an alternative to cars. It also will benefit our communities by reducing traffic, increasing safety by reducing car collisions, reducing household costs, and creating more connected communities with multiple options for getting around.

There are over 3 million people that live within RTD’s service area, which is over half of the population of the entire state. In order to ensure all of these communities have the reliable, frequent service they deserve, we must fully fund our transit system. Denver metro area transit must keep up with a growing population and provide more and better options for people to get around.

Transit is an equitable, accessible climate solution that comes with widespread benefits. It’s a clear win for our region. Support full funding for our transit to benefit our climate, air, health, and safety.
