The House of Representatives just passed a dangerous bill that sells out our environment to pay for tax cuts for big polluters and billionaires.

This legislation gives oil, gas, coal, timber, and mining companies virtual free reign to pillage our public lands and waters for profit, allows corporations to pay to fast-track large projects and bypass reviews, ends tax credits that helped deliver hundreds of billions of dollars in clean energy investments, created jobs, and lowered energy costs, and advances countless other devastating attacks on our climate, environment, and health.

Now, the Senate is getting to work drafting its version of the bill — so we need to mobilize massive public opposition to any attempts to include similar destructive, anti-environmental provisions.

I’m deeply concerned that your colleagues in the House have just passed a reconciliation bill that will auction off our public lands and waters and slash clean energy investments to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and big polluters.

I urge you to oppose any attempts to include similar anti-environmental provisions in the Senate version of the bill, including:

• Giving oil, gas, coal, timber, and mining companies virtual free reign to exploit our public lands and waters for profit

• Allowing corporations to pay off the federal government to fast-track large projects and short-circuit environmental analysis and judicial review

• Repealing historic clean energy and electric vehicle investments, costing households $26 billion more on their electricity and fuel bills by 2030, cutting domestic energy production, putting workers out of jobs, and throwing hundreds of billions of dollars of investments across the country into doubt
