The Trump administration recently announced two proposals to repeal crucial carbon and toxic air pollution standards for power plants, endangering millions of Americans.

Power plants are already responsible for one-third of U.S. carbon emissions. And standards were put in place to limit mercury, arsenic, lead, and other air toxins from power plants that can cause neurological damage in children, respiratory illness, and premature death. Now the administration is taking steps to give dirty coal- and gas-fired power plants looser reins to emit pollution while the rest of us pay the price.

Repealing these standards will worsen climate change, fuel more extreme weather events, and cause more health problems for more people in communities across the country.

And it’s the latest in an unprecedented barrage of attempts by the Trump administration to roll back fundamental environmental protections — including striking down the foundational EPA finding that climate change endangers human health and welfare.

The EPA will be seeking comments on these disastrous plans — and we need your help to mobilize a massive public outcry calling on the agency to reverse course and keep critical power plant standards in place. Send a message to the EPA now.
