People like me rely on the EPA to protect our communities from climate-changing pollutants, including carbon dioxide, methane, and four other heat-trapping pollutants. I’m very concerned that the EPA is considering reversing the endangerment finding and gutting clean car and truck standards.

Tailpipe emission standards for cars and trucks have reduced harmful emissions that lead to more asthma attacks, premature deaths, and climate-fueled extreme weather. Reversing these standards alone would be devastating for public health.

The EPA exists to protect us, the public, from climate change pollution and the unprecedented wildfires and hurricanes, extreme flooding, and heat waves it causes. If you go through with reversing the endangerment finding and clean car and truck standards, you are abdicating your duty — and simply rolling over to do the bidding of big polluters.

I urge you to keep the endangerment finding to protect our climate and our health instead of polluters’ profits.
