The government is shut down — send a message to Congress

The federal government is now shut down — and unless Congress comes together to stop the madness, the Trump administration will accelerate its efforts to further the fossil fuel industry’s agenda and permanently decimate programs like disaster relief and funding that allows communities to tackle water pollution and toxic chemicals. Your members of Congress need to hear from YOU: Tell them to block the administration from using the shutdown to permanently dismantle the government, and negotiate a solution that protects families.

Tell Congress to stop the Trump administration from unlawfully slashing federal programs.

The federal government is now shut down — and unless Congress comes together to stop the madness, the Trump administration will accelerate its efforts to further the fossil fuel industry’s agenda and permanently decimate programs like disaster relief and funding that allows communities to tackle water pollution and toxic chemicals.

Starting on day one, the Trump administration has been unlawfully defunding government programs, taking much-needed resources away from communities, and undermining the missions of agencies responsible for protecting our health and environment. They have been firing thousands of government employees at key agencies like the EPA, NOAA, and FEMA, and that leaves us dangerously ill-prepared for responding to hurricanes and other disasters. They now are trying to use this shutdown to accelerate this destruction — and it’s all straight from their Project 2025 playbook.

Congress can end the shutdown by negotiating a bipartisan solution that safeguards families and communities — but they need to act quickly.
