Tell Congress: Lee Zeldin Isn’t Fit to Lead

The Environmental Protection Agency exists to protect our air, water, and climate. But under Administrator Lee Zeldin, the EPA has repeatedly sided with corporate polluters while weakening the protections that keep Americans safe.

From repealing the endangerment finding, a scientific determination that climate pollution endangers public health, to exempting coal-fire plants from adhering to air pollution limits, Lee Zeldin has made it clear he will not protect the American people from pollution. He is not fit to be head of the EPA and certainly not Attorney General.

Tell Congress to keep Zeldin out of President Trump’s Cabinet.

Send a message to Congress asking them to scrutinize Lee Zeldin’s record as EPA administrator and keep him out of President Trump’s Cabinet.

President Trump and his EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin stand next to each other. Tell Congress: Stop Zeldin’s betrayal of public trust.

The Environmental Protection Agency exists to protect our air, water, and climate.

But under Administrator Lee Zeldin, the EPA has repeatedly sided with corporate polluters while weakening the protections that keep Americans safe. Under his leadership, the EPA:

  • Repealed the endangerment finding, a scientific determination that climate pollution endangers public health and a core legal foundation for regulating greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Gave polluters a free pass to dirty our air by helping coordinate exemptions from hazardous air pollution limits for more than 180 industrial facilities, including coal-fired power plants and chemical manufacturers.
  • Weakened Clean Water Act protections by proposing to limit which waterways receive federal safeguards, delaying rules requiring coal-fired power plants to reduce toxic wastewater pollution, and backing away from protections against PFAS “forever chemicals” in drinking water.
  • Undermined chemical safety protections under the Toxic Substances Control Act, slowing or weakening rules targeting dangerous substances like formaldehyde and asbestos.

Lee Zeldin has made it clear he will not protect the American people from pollution.

Now, instead of being held accountable, Zeldin may be rewarded with a promotion. President Trump is reportedly considering nominating Zeldin to be Attorney General, putting him in charge of the most powerful law enforcement office in the country.
