Reject the EPA's proposal to eliminate and delay standards that protect people from PFAS "forever chemicals” in drinking water. Submit a public comment before July 20.

Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a dangerous proposal to completely eliminate standards for four PFAS and delay the standards for two additional PFAS — limits that keep our drinking water safer for up to 105 million people in the U.S.
PFAS are called “forever chemicals” because they don't easily break down in the environment and they can accumulate in our bodies. Scientists have linked them to serious health problems like cancer, liver and kidney damage, and harm to the hormone and reproductive systems.
This short-sighted move is a giveaway to water utilities and chemical manufacturers who would rather pinch pennies than protect consumers from harmful pollutants. It also violates the Safe Drinking Water Act, which prohibits the EPA from weakening any drinking water standards once they’re set.
While NRDC’s legal team is fighting in court defending these lifesaving standards, the EPA is inviting public comments on this reckless action — and we need to build a groundswell of public support to maintain these vital protections and keep our drinking water safer from PFAS.
