Tell your senators and representatives: Reject the EV tax, fund public transit, and give Americans real, affordable transportation options.
Gas prices are over $4 a gallon across the country. The two best ways to escape high fuel costs are going electric or taking public transit — but Congress is considering the BUILD America 250 Act, a bill that puts both further out of reach.
This legislation would tax electric vehicles, freeze public transit funding, slash funds to build electric vehicles (EVs) charging stations, and kill programs that cut climate pollution and make communities more resilient to disasters. Meanwhile, the Trump administration and its allies in Congress are continuing to give handout after handout to their friends in the fossil fuel industry.
Americans need cleaner and cheaper ways to get around — for their wallets and the air they breathe. Congress must oppose the BUILD America 250 Act and go back to the drawing board.
