But we’re facing a biodiversity crisis of epic proportions due to an onslaught of habitat destruction, climate change, and other factors.

The Endangered Species Act suffered immeasurable damage under the Trump administration, but this bedrock law helped bring countless imperiled species back from the brink. And with one million species facing extinction, we need it now more than ever.

Your administration has the power to reverse the damage by restoring protections to threatened species, protecting species impacted by climate change, and putting the needs of species above the profits of corporations that want to build destructive roads, pipelines, mines, and other industrial projects in areas that are essential to the survival of these species.

In just the last 50 years, we have lost 60% of all wild animals on Earth. America has a responsibility to protect its natural heritage -- including wildlife -- for future generations. At a time of unprecedented biodiversity loss and habitat destruction, we need to restore and protect our nation's best tool for helping to prevent extinction.

I stand with the hundreds of thousands of scientists, wildlife experts, NRDC supporters, and others who overwhelmingly support the Endangered Species Act -- and I hope you will too.
