As your constituent, I urge you to oppose the ESA Amendments Act.

Hundreds of species like our national bird, the bald eagle, were almost extinct until they were saved by protections under the Endangered Species Act.

That effective, lifesaving law would be drastically weakened by the ESA Amendments Act that would gut core protections for our nation’s most imperiled species.

The bill makes dozens of harmful changes, including eliminating any review of permits for logging, drilling, and other industrial activities. Corporations would be given a free pass to destroy wildlife habitat, the main cause of species extinction worldwide. Grizzly bears, Florida panthers, manatees, and over 1,300 endangered and threatened species would face even more risks.

And a million more species are at risk of extinction in the coming decades, which will forever alter our entire ecosystem. Endangered Species Act protections are more important than ever, and I will not stop fighting for them. I urge you to stand with me.
