Add your name: Protect our public lands and waters

President Trump signed into law Congress’s dangerous budget bill that auctions off our public lands and waters to pay for tax cuts for big polluters and billionaires.
Polluting corporations and their allies in Washington are counting on our silence so they can continue to pillage our public lands and waters. We cannot allow their agenda to prevail.
Add your name to say: I stand with millions of Americans across the country in defense of our public lands and waters, and I will not stop fighting for their protection. I oppose companies exploiting our shared lands, causing irreparable harm and devastation. And I will keep raising my voice to safeguard our fragile ecosystem, its wildlife, and the communities it supports to combat the climate crisis and preserve nature, biodiversity, and people’s interests over profit.
Here’s what this new law means for our environment:
- Hundreds of millions of acres of public lands are now up for grabs. New oil and gas drilling will be allowed through mandated lease sales controlled by the fossil fuel industry — including across massive swaths of irreplaceable Alaskan wilderness.
- Wildlife habitats face devastating destruction. Critical homes for caribou, grizzly bears, wolves, salmon, and other iconic species will be threatened by expanded drilling, mining, and logging, especially in Alaska’s pristine Arctic.
- Vast stretches of our oceans are at risk. The bill forces offshore oil and gas leasing in the Gulf of Mexico and off Alaska’s coast, exposing marine life and coastal communities to the danger of oil spills and industrial pollution.
